Leadership Skills & Team Building
MindReader Description
In MindReader, teams of participants represent one of two companies in a fictional segment of the computer peripheral industry. Each team must strategize to maximize profit for their company. Teams set and exchange prices for their products, using Consensus’ phone-accessed website “app” (no download is required). Through a series of rounds, they calculate earned profits based on the relationship between the two companies’ prices.
The pace of MindReader is intense, as participants grapple with a range of issues related to competition, communication, and risk.
The atmosphere, however, is light, as participants laugh and plot against their counterparts.
Following the MindReader exercise, Consensus facilitators debrief the experience, and discuss different profit maximization strategies adopted by participants. Discussion is focused on how the learning points relate to and should inform participants’ real-life work strategies and interactions with stakeholders.
Learning Objectives:
• Create communication strategies that support long-term relationships
• Maximize value
• Collaborate with team members
• Influence counterparts and outcomes
• Act purposefully in business relationships, rather than reactively
• Understand the importance of trust and goodwill in business
