Joshua Weiss
Assoc. Principal
Joshua Weiss consults with leading global organizations, and delivers training workshops to help their key personnel achieve greater results.
He is the co-founder of the Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University, and is a senior fellow at the Harvard Negotiation Project. In line with Consensus’ Peace Building practice, the Global Negotiation Initiative and the Harvard Negotiation Project apply academic research and theory in global negotiation work through third-side engagement in conflict resolution as well as negotiation support in intractable conflicts.
Josh is the author of the forthcoming book Getting Back to the Table: 5 Steps for Reviving Stalled Negotiations (Barrett Koehler 2025) that shares advice for dealing with failure in negotiation. He also authored The Book of Real-World Negotiations: Successful Strategies From Business, Government, and Daily Life (Wiley 2020). Rather than presenting theoretical cases, the book uses real-world negotiation examples and cases to highlight what can be achieved through preparation, persistence, creativity, and taking a strategic approach to negotiation. Josh also has written several children’s book on negotiation and conflict resolution.
In addition to his work at Consensus, Josh is the Director (and creator) of the Masters in Leadership and Negotiation at Bay Path University.
