Professional services firm wanted to introduce common conceptual framework across different practice areas and at different levels of the firm.
Consensus Solution
Consensus developed and delivered a series of workshops, each leveraging the same conceptual framework. We created unique simulation-training exercises along several axes, including practice area, management level, global region, etc., such that the specific challenges faced by each audience were addressed. We tailored the length of workshops to meet the different audiences, as some required a longer course (e.g. 2-day workshop) while others were more restricted by time (e.g., 2-part training series; 4-hour sessions), we incorporated elements having to do with cultural disparity (since this is a global organization, cross-cultural issues have to be addressed both between regional offices and with a global client base), and we provided executive coaching to some of the most senior executives and as a follow-on to participants whose acute matters deserved guided attention.
Results
- The client reports improved performance at all levels of the firm and better intra-firm communication and internal consensus, even across regions. Moreover, after several years of implementing the initiative, the firm sees a uniform “communication culture” emerging that provides for consistency and reinforcement of the learning objectives and targeted behaviors/performance.
