Come for a Job, Stay for a Career

We are a people-focused business.

Our services are designed to help others enjoy better business results through collaborative professionals relationships. Similarly, within our firm, we view our people, our culture, and the interpersonal dynamics as being central to our success. Accordingly, our people are our priority, and our team is quite special.

We believe in rewarding those who contribute to our success. Accordingly, we provide compensation packages that exceed market norms, help team members grow professionally, and offer the opportunity to build a career with us.

While we pride ourselves on the diversity of our staff, every member of our team shares common characteristics: integrity, respect and empathy for others, positivity, commitment to excellence, ambition, self-starter, a willingness to do whatever it takes to meet or exceed expectations (ethically), and a passion for what we do.

If you think that there would be mutual gain by you joining our team, we encourage you to apply for the position that best suits your talents, experience, and interests.

Current Positions

Global Director, Sales & Business Development

The Opportunity

Since our founding in 1993, our firm principally has grown through client referrals and word of mouth. While we are proud that our reputation and service quality have resulted in a loyal, perennial client base that has grown over time, we now would like to augment our growth through the introduction of a Sales function.

We are creating this new position, because we would like to grow at a much faster rate.

In a similar vein, we are developing other initiatives to expedite our growth and be at the cutting edge:

• In 2016, we initiated a global expansion plan. We successfully piloted our Consensus Global Network initiative in Berlin, Germany, and in 2017, we opened CGN offices in India. We foresee opening additional CGN offices in other strategic locations in the coming years.

• We are preparing to launch a new business development/thought leadership initiative in Q4 2017. We successfully beta-tested the concept for the Talent Development Roundtable – our executive-level, Talent Development membership organization – and we foresee this as an opportunity to expand our client network. We are in talks with sponsors, and are organizing our charter members (Chief Learning Officers).

• We are designing a library of digital learning modules that will serve two purposes: (1) comprehensive, just-in-time learning solutions that can be licensed to clients, and (2) marketing tools. We expect to go to market by January 2018.

The Role: Global Director, Sales & Business Development

This professional will be responsible for helping take our business to the next level of sales.

We are creating this new position, because we would like to build on our success and grow at a faster rate. Since our founding in 1993, our firm principally has grown through client referrals and word of mouth. While we are proud that our reputation and service quality have resulted in a loyal, perennial client base that has grown over time, we now would like to augment our growth through the introduction of a Sales function.

You will be the face of Consensus to our Talent Development clients. Accordingly, you will introduce our customized workshops, coaching, and other TD solutions to organizational clients, as well as manage those relationships. Our typical client is a multinational organization (e.g., Fortune500) or large governmental agency, yet we are quite open to working with smaller organizations, as well – for example, individual hedge funds have yielded $100+ in annual sales.

Initially, you will leverage your experience and professional network in Talent Development to originate new client relationships for the firm. You also will identify additional opportunities with our current client base. Your efforts will be supported by leadership’s direct involvement (e.g., we will make ourselves available to confer with you on sales strategies, to attend sales meetings, to provide free “demo” sessions to prospects, etc.); you also will be supported through marketing initiatives, collateral materials, client references, and an expense account, among other things.

We expect you to originate $1million of new business annually, principally by introducing $50k+ accounts. You also will serve as the ongoing contact for the clients that you introduce. You will not be bound by geography or by industry – the world is your oyster!

Within a few years, if you are up to the task, you will build a sales team that you will lead. As the director of the Sales function, you will help shape the nature and structure of the team, and will be rewarded for the overall productivity of the function. Our vision is that you will continue to sell Consensus services, and will mentor the rest of your team by demonstrating best-practices and by offering guidance. In turn, your compensation will reflect the overall performance of the Sales function.

This is a critical role and a lifetime opportunity for the right person. If you are an ambitious and capable self-starter, you will enjoy a compensation package that exceeds industry norms, autonomy, and support from friendly and trustworthy colleagues. Moreover, once you prove yourself to be an invaluable part of our team, we will be open to discussing an equity position in our firm.

The Responsibilities

You will report directly to our Managing Partner, who will collaborate closely with you to scope and price learning solutions to our clients, as well as to ensure that requested marketing materials and efforts are in place to support you.
