Consensus Trains New York Police Department

January 8, 2009 (New York, NY) … Consensus, a leading negotiation and conflict resolution consultancy, taught negotiation and conflict resolution skills to officers within the Community Affairs Bureau of the New York Police Department.

Consensus designed a full-day program to specifically address the unique challenges faced by the bureau.

“As a New York-based organization, we were happy to help the NYPD in any way that we could,” says Consensus CEO Michael Rosenthal. “Community Affairs officers often confront complicated and emotionally-charged situations that, if not handled well, could escalate. Applying the skills that we taught in today’s sessions could be the difference between a peaceful solution and a violent outbreak.”

Consensus has consulted to and trained law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and security forces across the world on matters relating to crisis negotiation and conflict resolution.
