CEOs Attend Negotiation Seminar February 23, 2010 (New York) … Chief executives from approximately twenty international companies came together last night to improve their skills around negotiation. The by-invitation event, which was hosted by Shiboleth in the law firm’s New York offices, was led by Donny Ebenstein, a partner at Consensus, a negotiation consulting firm. “There is something about working with executives at this level,” said Ebenstein. “Each brings a depth of expertise and a vast amount of experience. Yet, even at that most senior level, there is room for improvement. The challenge lies in identifying those areas that could benefit from some refinement.” The two-hour, interactive session examined a case-study that was specially developed for the session to highlight the learning points. Executives were grouped into small clusters, analyzed the case, and developed negotiation strategies which were discussed and then evaluated by Ebenstein. The session culminated with one of the participating CEOs squaring off against Ebenstein in a simulated negotiation, while the other participants offered him feedback and advice. “It was challenging and fun,” admitted the CEO from the simulation. “[They] managed to put me on the spot [and] I certainly learned a lot from the experience.” For more information, please contact Consensus at 212.391.8100.
