New York City DCAS Engages Consensus January 21, 2010 (New York) … The City of New York’s administrative office, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services, has hired the prominent negotiations firm, Consensus, to work with professionals from twenty City agencies. Consensus initially will meet with agency professionals to determine common threads to challenges faced by the different parties. Subsequently, based on their findings, the firm will provide training for dealing with those challenges, specifically around collaborative decision making, to those identified by the City as “future leaders”. “It’s only natural that, in a city as complex as New York and with so many diverse agencies, that seemingly competing interests emerge,” according to Consensus partner Donny Ebenstein, who is heading up the initiative. “And, when that happens, it’s up to the leaders of those agencies to find a way to collaborate and find a solution that best serves the City. This initiative is designed to prepare the leaders of tomorrow for that task.” For more information, please contact Consensus at 212.391.8100.
