American Friends Service Committee Turns to Consensus
January 6, 2010 (New York, NY) … Nobel Peace Prize winner American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) has engaged Consensus to evaluate their Community Violence Prevention Project.
Consensus, a leader in the areas of peace building and conflict resolution, was hired to evaluate the last three years of AFSC’s Youth Gun Violence prevention programming. The program, which involves elected officials in Albany, local community groups, and schools, is designed to raise awareness about and reduce gun violence. Consensus worked with stakeholders and participants, evaluated the program, and then offered its findings and recommendations to AFSC.
“The success of this program is essential to the reduction of gun violence among our youth,” commented Zachary Metz, a partner at Consensus who headed up the initiative. “We felt honored to offer our services in an effort to ensure that the program provides maximum impact.”
