Executive Compensation

While it would have been awkward for the divisional head of an iconic modeling agency to have someone negotiate her salary on her behalf, she understood the value of turning to Consensus to help her think through and prepare for that negotiation.

We started by refining and prioritizing her objectives, and then crafted a strategy for achieving those objectives. We identified persuasive counterarguments to potential objections, and developed an overarching plan for inducing the agency to accommodate all of her requests. We then conducted simulated negotiations in which we played the part of the agency and she practiced applying the strategy, and with each iteration she achieved new heights by incorporating the feedback and advice we offered along the way.

In the end, she increased her compensation package by more than 20% – something she even didn’t think possible prior to sitting down with us.

Other examples of what we can negotiate for you include:

Buying out Your Business Partner
Selling Your Business

Perfect for:

Salary Negotiations

Client Contracts

Real Estate Transactions

Buying/Selling a Business

Vendor/Contractor Agreements

As few as 1-2 hours of structured preparation can be the difference between achieving the terms you want rather than conceding on your objectives.

The Practitioner Advantage

Each member of the Consensus team has more than fifteen years of field experience, working on behalf of clients as their negotiators and mediators. As practitioners, we routinely test and apply cutting edge strategies and theories as part of our various client situations, ranging from hostage situations to billion-dollar business transactions to political standoffs.

Accordingly, we are highly informed about the strengths inherent to different approaches and frameworks, and how various theoretical concepts would or would not apply to your contexts. Our practitioner experience translates into more concrete advice based on firsthand experience, a true understanding of how theories play out in the real world (and when popular ideas would fall short), and an ability to relate to professionals at all levels of seniority – including members of your C-suite.
